*Wraps per inch (WPI) - measures yarn thickness by counting how many times the yarn wraps around a ruler in one inch. More wraps thinner yarn, while fewer wraps thicker yarn.

  • 4mm

  • ch - chain stitch

  • dc – double crochet

  • rnd – round
  • rpt – repeat
  • sc – single crochet
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • sp /sps – space/spaces
  • tr – treble stitch
  • [] – at the end of a round indicates the number of stitches in that round

Special Stitches

pc - 5dc in st, remove hk from the loop, insert hk into 1st dc made, pick up the loop of last dc, and draw through loop on hk.

Instructions For Popcorn Crochet Heart Motif

Rnd 1, col A - MR, ch2, PC, *(ch2, PC), into ring, rpt from * 6 times, ch3, sl st into ring, ch3, sl st into back of 1st PC to join, pull yarn tail tight to close the ring (as much as you can), cut yarn, fasten, off and weave in end.

Rnd 2, col B – sl st yarn into 1st ch-3 sp (the one on the left), 1sc into sp, 3dc into top of PC, (1dc, 2hdc) in ch-2 sp, 1hdc into PC, 3hdc in next ch-2 sp, 1hdc in next PC, (1hdc, 2dc) in next ch-2 sp, 1tr in next PC, (2dc, 1hdc) in next ch-2 sp, 1hdc in next PC, 3hdc in next ch-2 sp, 1hdc into PC, (2hdc, 1dc) in next ch-2 sp, 3dc into top of PC, 2sc in ch-3 sp, 1sc down into the MR, 1sc in next ch-3 sp, sl st into 1st sc to join.
